Yes, I am now home. I miss New Zealand and my mates terribly but it was important to come home and put in some face time with the expanding family.
My brother is continuing his quest to re-populate the world with boys as he and his wife are expecting again. This will be child number 4. Every time he has a child I have to re-think the distribution of the hockey memorabilia I am planning to give to his children when they reach an appropriate age. So I am going to be an Aunt AGAIN. Talk about stripping the meaning out of something.
I think they can officially call their family a LITTER.
My sister has just become recently engaged to a fellow she has been seeing for a couple of years. I’ve heard a rumor that the wedding might take place in Costa Rica next year and I couldn’t be happier for her. The added bonus of all this is I get to knock another place off my list.
My parents went and got themselves a puppy. Now 6 months, Daisy is a cross between a Border Collie and an Australian Shepard. She is black with a white chest and white spotted paws that look like dirty socks (see picture below). We’ve made fast friends and I think she associates me with playing catch because I did it a few times and now I can’t stop her from dropping the ball at my feet and looking at me like if I don’t throw that tennis ball she will die from sadness. She associates my Mom with chilling out and my Dad with going to the bathroom. She has been trying to herd the two family cats who don’t like being stalked by something that will go into their litter box and snack on the contents. Daisy is cute to watch though and I often forget that she is like a baby and everything, I mean EVERYTHING, is new to her. I gave her an ice cube the other day and watched her bark at it until she was satisfied it wasn’t going to run off.
